Set in 2 acres of gardens and woodland, La Marmoire has stunning views over the neighbouring countryside and farmland within this picturesque area of the Loire-Atlantique. A 10 minute drive from the bustling town of Châteaubriant with its weekly market and numerous attractions and amenities.
Every bedroom is unique, tastefully furnished and thoughtfully equipped, each with its own private ensuite facilities.
Sumptuous breakfasts are served in the dining area or on the terrace.
Spend sun-filled days relaxing in the garden, take a dip in the beautiful heated swimming pool or soothe away your cares in the Canadian spa/hot tub.
Pop down to the village for your lunch supplies, or ask us to pack up a picnic for you, for a day out or for an alfresco treat by the pool.
We are happy to recommend local eateries and equally happy to prepare your evening meal so that you can chill out at the end of the day and watch the sun set with a glass of wine or two.
We are ideally located for exploring the local countryside by car, on foot or by bike.
Easily accessible by car are the numerous ‘Petites Cités de Caractère’ (small towns of character) and the rugged coastline of Brittany, the majestic Chateaux, gardens and vineyards of the Loire and the cosmopolitan city of Nantes, France’s 6th largest city.
Roger and Susan Palmer embarked on their adventure to create a welcoming bed and breakfast, a ‘home from home’ in June 2013. A year later they are ready to open their doors.
Roger studied hospitality management and worked for many years in the catering industry. He owned and managed a deli/café in the UK, catering for many social events from intimate parties to large weddings.
Susan has worked as a PA as well as fulfilling various roles within the leisure, fitness and hotel industry.
We hope that our joint love of entertaining and meeting new people will equip us to give you the level of hospitality and service we would wish to receive.
